AKMU renews another five-year contract with YG Entertainment
AKMU will continue making music with YG Entertainment!
YG Entertainment announced on January 26 that AKMU re-signs another five-year contract under the agency.
Both Lee Chanhyuk and Lee Suhyun signed the new agreement, following the expiration of their previous seven-year contract.
Akdong Musician, or popularly known as AKMU is composed of siblings Lee Chanhyuk and Lee Suhyun.
The duo is very well-recognized for their amazing musical abilities and artistic execution, hence, producing hits and numerous number one songs for the last seven years.
AKMU’s Lee Chanhyuk said, “It is a company that has supported us in a way that we want to move forward without any small friction or disagreement for 7 years.”
Whilst Lee Suhyun added, “I’ve never thought about leaving YG,” confirming the trust and their feelings toward the renewal.
As you all remember, AKMU debuted in SBS’ “Kpop Star 2”, along with TREASURE’s Bang Yedam, then the siblings emerged as winners and signed with YG Entertainment in 2014.
Since then, AKMU established a household name for their chart-topping releases such as “Give Love”, “200%”, “Time and Fallen Leaves” and many more.
Recently, AKMU received another great feat with their song, “How Can I Love The Heartbreak, You’re The One I Love“, by having the most unique listeners and the most streamed on Genie Music history among all YG releases.
