PH Anime Series, ‘Trese’ to Officially Premiere on Netflix this June!

Paagi! Paparating na si Trese!

The highly-anticipated anime series adaptation of the award-winning graphic novel ‘Trese’ is officially coming to Netflix this June 11!

Illustrated and created by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo, ‘Trese’ is a crime-horror comic that follows the story of Alexandra Trese as she battles with supernatural creatures and forces purely based on Philippine mythology.

Moreover, the first trailer released by Netflix on May 20 showcases the fierce character of Trese as she investigates unusual happenings in Metro Manila due to the existence of strange and mythical creatures.

The trailer gave thrill and hype to the viewers as they express their excitement on the release of this first-ever Netflix Original Philippine anime series.


Additionally, ‘Trese’ comprises notable voice actors, actresses, and production team. Alexandra Trese is voiced by Liza Soberano (Filipino dubbed) and Shay Mitchell (English dubbed) while the production team previously worked on popular movies namely “Batman: The Dark Night Returns,” “Transformers: Prime,” and “Star Wars Rebels.”

On top of that, ‘Trese’ is produced and directed by renowned Filipino-American animator Jay Oliva. (Source here).

Also, well-known OPM band UDD (Up Dharma Down) composed the official soundtrack for the series titled “Paagi.”

Furthermore, fans of Philippine literature also share their high hopes that ‘Trese’ will feasibly open doors for more series adaptations of marvelous comics and novels created by remarkable Filipino artists.

‘Trese,’ composed of six episodes is available for streaming exclusively on Netflix this June 11.
