From ‘Vagabond’ to ‘Arthdal Chronicles,’ These 5 K-Dramas absolutely deserve a second season!
The pandemic really has, at some point of its two-year existence, prompted us to binge on Korean dramas that promise to, well, bring about the verve and high spirits we once had when we could still roam around the streets, unmasked and until our feet are sore.
Yet, while resorting to K-dramas at the comfort of our homes and our swivel chairs, we weren’t informed that open-ended finales are among the biggest enemies to face once you get sucked in K-dramaland.
Seriously, whatever happened next to Hae Soo and 4th Prince Wang So? Did they meet again in modern times? How about Jung Yoo and Hong Seol after the latter finally received an email from her beloved ex?
If you find yourself asking the same questions, you’re not alone. With a slew of K-dramas that totally need a Season 2 like the ones listed below, we can’t help but ask ourselves the same—constantly.

1. Arthdal Chronicles
Taking pride in its lineup of prominent actors Song Joong Ki, Jang Dong Gun, Park Hae Joon, Kim Ok Bin, Kim Ji Won, and more, plus the unmissable cameos and supporting cast, “Arthdal Chronicles” featured the penultimate event with Eun-Seom at the final phase of uprising led by none other than himself. The final parts were delivered through animated sepia slides, showing the war unfolding, the reunion of Tanya and Eun-Seom, and Moo Baek swept away to an unknown island and being found by Karika Xabara.
But…what happened next? It’s been two years and we’re still left hoping to see Eun-Seom meeting his long-lost twin Sa Ya in the flesh, as well as Moo Baek’s comeback.
2. Cheese In The Trap
CITT concluded in 2016, and five years later, most of its cast members—Kim Go Eun, Park Hae Jin, Nam Joo Hyuk, Lee Sung Kyung, and Seo Kang Joon—are now established and esteemed. Still, we ponder on what could’ve happened if the final episode was a little longer, or if there was a sequel to it.
But no. The conclusion left us up in the air, floating alongside question marks and confused emojis. For three years, Hong Seol had sent a bunch of unresponded emails to Jung Yoo, until a message finally popped up on her screen, with Jung Yoo’s voice that could be heard greeting with zest: “Seol-a!” And cut. That was it.
3. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

Of course, the crowd favorite! Who could ever forget Hae Soo and Wang So’s love story, chaotic princes, and the greatest reverse harem of all time? And with how greatly this drama made us crack laughter, “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” also gave us the annoying, ineradicable anguish even after five years.
In April this year, IU and Lee Joon Gi (who remain friends to this day) revealed the supposed ending of their hit romance-tragedy drama—that Wang So’s reincarnation was supposed to appear at the museum and offer the crying Hae Soo his hanky! And granting this was initially to materialize, we’re wondering if the handsome princes also got reincarnated and reunited, too.
At this point, we can only dream, and try to erase 10th Prince Wang Eun’s death in our heads.
4. Vagabond
Our 2019 wouldn’t be complete without “Vagabond” on our watched list, and yet we feel incomplete after it left us filling the void with theories of what happened next after Cha Dal Geon (Lee Seung Gi) shot the mercenary to save his erstwhile partner in crime turned lobbyist Go Hae Ri (Suzy). We’ve also been trying to guess what Edward Park and his new allies Prime Minister Moon Seong Geun and Yoon Han Ki’s next steps would be. Or will forgiveness ever take place at Dal Geon’s heart.
A couple of years have passed and questions remain unresolved. We. Need. Answers!
5. Vincenzo
Honestly, who doesn’t miss the Cassano Family? Thanks to Vincenzo’s (Song Joong Ki) fatal charms, skills, and wit, alongside his eccentric partner and sharp-tongued lawyer Hong Cha Young (Jeon Yeo Bin), he inspired the Geumga Plaza tenants to revisit their old selves they once were known.
And while the residents reclaimed their peaceful lives in the aftermath of their battle against the Babel Group, the handsome mafia lawyer flew back to Italy but kept in touch with the Jipuragi team through a cryptic monthly card that features the beautiful island of Malta.
Nearing its end, the 2021 K-drama gifted us viewers with the much-anticipated kiss of Cha Young and Vincenzo, but only to go on their separate ways once again.
So what happened? Did she follow him to his newly-purchased island and settle down with him? Did the Geumga Plaza residents fly to Malta to visit their old friend?
Or did Vincenzo Cassano, after seeing Hong Cha Young one last time to wear his heart on his sleeve, drift away for good? Give us answers, byeonhosa-nim!
