Kim Wooseok was born on October 27, 1996, in Daedeok District, Daejeon, South Korea.
Pre-debut
Wooseok made his first appearance in Up10tion’s pre-debut show, “Masked Rookie King,” in 2015. He had been training for a year before debuting.
Up10tion debut
On September 11, 2015, he made his formal debut in South Korea and was introduced as Up10tion’s first member under TOP Media. He was known previously by his stage name ‘Wooshin.’
Up10tion made their Japanese debut on March 8, 2017, with the release of their first Japanese song, ‘ID’.
Hiatus
On June 6, 2017, TOP Media stated Wooseok’s hiatus in Up10tion. It was claimed that his psychiatric health had worsened as a result of the emotional stress he had been subjected to.
And after nine months, Wooseok returned to the group activity when UP10TION had their comeback ‘Invitation’ on March 15, 2018.
Produce X 101
Kim Wooseok, along with fellow Up10tion member Lee Jinhyuk, was confirmed to be a participant on Produce X 101 in March 2019. He ranked second in the final episode with 3,120,276 votes, securing a position in the final lineup.
X1 debut
On August 27, 2019, Wooseok made his debut as a member of ‘X1‘.
Following the Mnet vote-rigging investigation’s results, X1 declared its disbandment on January 6, 2020.
Kim Wooseok stated on April 23, 2020, that his solo debut song will be released in May. And on May 25, 2020, he released his first extended play, ‘1st Desire (Greed)’, which included the lead track ‘Red Moon.’
Following last February 8, 2021, he released his second extended play ‘2nd Desire (Tasty)’, which included the lead track ‘Sugar.’ And he got his won first music program on M Countdown last February 18, 2021.
Acting career
On March 17, 2021, it was said that Wooseok was part of the cast of ‘Bulgasal’.
He will portray Nam Doyoon, a high school student who follows Dan Hwal around like a dog and always puts a clown smile on his face.
The new drama is scheduled to premiere on December 18, 2021, on tvN. It will also be available for streaming on Netflix.
