Korean consumer prices grow 5.6% on year in September

Consumer prices in September grew 5.6 percent year-on-year.  
 
However, this was the second month in which the growth of consumer prices slowed, after peaking at a 24 year-high of 6.3 percent in July.
 
While prices continued to rise, the relatively slowdown compared to previous months was largely affected by the slower growth of petroleum goods as global energy prices have been falling.
 
The rise in vegetable prices, which had been growing sharply in earlier months, has also started to ease.
