Korea’s consumer prices rose 3.7 percent in September from a year earlier following a rise in global oil prices and agricultural products due to heavy rain and heat waves.

The growth rate rose 0.3 percentage points from a month earlier, staying above 3 percent for two consecutive months after hovering at the 2 percent range in June and July.

Core inflation, excluding volatile food and energy prices, rose 3.3 percent on year, down 0.1 percentage point from a month earlier.
