However, the reinstated system currently offers limited services including access to residents' IDs.

Since the system failure on Friday morning, widespread chaos ensued as citizens were denied access to crucial government documents, such as resident IDs and family relation certificates.

These documents play a vital role in identity verification for various purposes, including applying for financial loans and obtaining a library card.

Prime Minister Han Duck-soo expressed his sincere apologies to the public for the inconvenience and confusion caused by the suspension of public institution services due to the administrative electronic system error.

"The latest incident clearly shows the inconvenience and confusion that happens when the digital system does not operate perfectly," Han sasid during a government task force meeting on Saturday.

Han reassured the public that the government, spearheaded by the Ministry of Interior and Safety and with collaboration from the private sector, is committed to swiftly normalizing the system.

"We will do our best in normalizing the system," he added.
