About 500 admission wristbands were stolen at a BTS concert venue in Goyang, Gyeonggi, on Saturday, police said.
A report was received at around 3:20 p.m. that a man had fled with the wristbands from a ticket booth at Goyang Stadium, where BTS's new world tour, titled "Arirang," is currently underway, according to police.
After receiving the report, police began tracking the suspect.
The wristbands are required for entry to the concert venue.
BTS kicked off the "Arirang" world tour with a concert in Goyang on Thursday. Following performances in Goyang on Saturday and Sunday, the boy band will move to the Tokyo Dome on April 17 and 18 before performing in North America.
The tour includes multinight bookings in many of the world’s renowned stadiums and high-capacity concert venues. Notable stops include four nights at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The band is also scheduled to have its first performances in South America, with two nights each in Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina and three nights in Brazil.
The band has already sold out 46 shows, according to concert organizer Live Nation, and has sold 2.4 million tickets for 41 North American and European dates alone.
“Arirang,” released on March 20, marked the end of BTS’s nearly four-year hiatus and was followed by a celebratory comeback performance at Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul the next day.
