We That Year is based on a webtoon with the same title, it is a youth growth romance drama about the complex and subtle feelings of a couple who had a bad breakup.

However, they were forced to see each other again in front of the camera when the documentary film they created 10 years ago became popular.

Choi Woo Shik will play the character of Choi Woong, an illustrator who looks immature and free-spirited but his sincerity will come out when he finds something he wants in life for the first time.

Kim Da Mi, on the other hand, will take the role of realist public relation expert named Gook Yeon Soo who once had a goal of taking no. 1 place during her school days.

She was always in the first place in her entire high school years, but she is now living her adult life fiercely while adapting to reality with a wounded heart.

While Kim Sung Cheol portrays the character of Kim Ji Woong, a documentary director who directs through the observer’s point of view and he’ll bring focus in directing a documentary with Choi Woo Shik and Kim Da Mi’s characters.

Kim Ji Woong is also a lonely person and maintains an omniscient viewpoint in life who thinks that the documentary directors like him see the world from behind the camera and it resembles himself.

Moreover, Roh Jeong Eui plays the character of a top idol named NJ who prepares her second drama, she is always in the spotlight because of her overflowing visuals and acting skills.

When she feels that everything is different, she prepares to live as a real her and finds comfort in Choi Woong’s (Choi Woo Shik) illustrations, in which she becomes curious about him as well.

We That Year is Studio N’s first and original work after doing a successful visualization of webtoon-based series such as Strangers From Hell, True Beauty, and Sweet Home.

It is scheduled to air on the second of the year and the filming will now begin now that the casts are already completed.
