Lee Hyeri celebrates her birthday by giving charitable donation to UNICEF

On Lee Hyeri’s birthday dated on June 9, she donated 50 million won to the committee for UNICEF.

Hyeri said:

“I have learned that there are still many girls in the global community who suffer from discrimination and pain due to the practice of having difficulties during menstruation due to lack of hygiene products or impure menstruation itself. It was heartbreaking to hear that there were many girls who didn’t go to school at all because there were no separate toilets for men and women. I hope that it will help all girls grow up happily in a safe and clean environment.”

Lee Ki Cheol, the Secretary General of UNICEF’s Korean Committe shared:

“Hyeri’s sponsor delivered a warm gift for her birthday. Although she is the youngest member of the Honors Club, Hyeri’s caring heart is deeper and wider than anyone else. The fund is a great example for me and my staff”

He added:

“We will use it preciously for a safe and clean world for girls in developing countries.”

All Hyeri’s donation will be used for the UNICEF’s “we=she” campaign which supports hygiene products for girls.

It was in 2019 when Hyeri donated 100 million won to “Schools for Asia”, an educational program for Asian children and became a youngest member of the UNICEFs honor club.

Meanwhile, Lee Hyeri is currently starring in new tvN Rom-com fantasy drama “My Roommate Is A Gumiho” alongside with Jang Ki Yong and Kang Han Na which airs every Wednesday and Thursday, 10:30 PM KST. available on iQIYI.

Happiest Birthday to Hyeri, you are such a beautiful person inside and out!
