Ahn Hyo Seop, Gong Myung, Kim Yoo Jung, and Kwak Si Yang attend first script reading for “Lovers of the Red Sky”

Here’s another upcoming drama to look forward to!

SBS released on July 7 the behind-the-scene photos of 1st script reading that happened last November 2020 of the upcoming historical fantasy romantic drama, Lovers of the Red Sky.

Lovers of the Red Sky is based on the novel Hong Chun Gi by author Jung Eun Gwol that depicts a love story of a red-eyed man and a female painter during the Joseon Dynasty.

The production team, including director Jang Tae Yoo and writer Ha Eun, together with the cast members Kim Yoo Jung, Ahn Hyo Seop, Gong Myung, Kwak Si Yang, Jang Hyun Sung, Kim Kwang Gyu, and Moon Sook were all attended the said script reading.

Kim Yoo Jung portrays the role of Hong Chun Gi, a painter who has great drawing skills. As expected, Kim Yoo Jung really did a great job during the first script reading and she proved she had a solid acting skill.


Ahn Hyo Seop plays the role of Haram, a blind man who reads the constellation in the sky. He really shows off his charm in portraying the role of Haram in a beautiful and mysterious way.

Gong Myung will play the role of prince Anpyeong, an art lover. He is expected to captivate the hearts of women in his character here.

Kwak Si Yang took the role of the cruel and scheming prince Sooyang who dreams to become the next Joseon King. He will show off his never seen before acting skill which will add tension to the drama.

On the other hand, The supporting actors Jang Hyun Sung, Kim Kwang Gyu, and Moon Suk made the first script reading even hotter with their superb acting skills.

The production crew said,

“It was a script reading that showed the actors’ passionate performance and synergy. It was a lively scene where each character in the script was vividly felt, and the story of Lovers of the Red Sky, which will be expressed in the video, was more anticipated. Please look forward to Lovers of the Red Sky, a fantasy romance that is like a painting.”

Meanwhile, Lovers of the Red Sky is scheduled to premiere this coming August.
